How to choose the right Auto Body Shop
Choosing the right auto-body shop in wellington isn’t rocket-science. It’s a simple task if you know what to look for and the right questions to ask. It is important but not something you have to overthink. So many people get hung up on the fact that they are convinced they’ll be roped into a scam. And though there are unethical people out there—there will be others who will become your auto body shop for life. Just pay attention to the instructions here and you’ll be just fine. Some things may seem common sense but people lose that when they have to deal with car repair of any sort—it’s not your fault.
What to do beforehand if you can:
Once you own a vehicle, you should look for a reputable shop before you have to use one. This means you’ll need to be able to scope it out and visit before you’ll let them touch your car. Look at the people working; were you approached in a friendly and professional manner? Contact the Better Business Bureau and find out how they stand with them. Have they had complaints and if so, of what nature?
While you’re there:
Ask them if they work on your make and model car on a regular basis. If you have a foreign car you’ll want to make sure they can handle it. Do they have any awards on the wall or any accolades of note? This is professionalism and not just some garage.
Look for certifications on the wall that reflects the staff’s technical skills. Do they have I CARE or ASE attendance? This is important because you don’t want people with no drive to learn more and perfect their craft. For that you can your “handy” neighbor to handle it.
And lastly, don’t be afraid to let them know what you’re there for. And when you do need them always get a written estimate. Make sure you have two shops to choose from as well. This gives you the benefit of leaving if you aren’t satisfied.
